I had to do a considerable amount of fine tuning on this guitar as the bridge was too low and the frets were uneven at the 14th, 15th and 16th fret. That is one of the problems when you buy parts that are not pre-matched. I considered that the owner was a beginner and set the neck to play easier for a beginner, and it can be adjusted differently later if he so pleases. The electronics are just fantastic. These pickups (although made in China) give a soft warm tone at the neck and a famous "twang" at the bridge. They could always be replaced at a later date if the client so wishes. I wired the electronics with 500K full size pots and an .022 resistor rather than the 250K's usually found in Tele's and Strats to give it a smoother sound. The pickup switch is the normal bridge/both/neck selection. A 5 way out of phase switch (as in a Strat) could be added later. This guitar is very unique in in the fact that it is green (have you ever seen a green Tele?) and that the electronics are not what you would expect for this guitar. It could be used for country, rock or just general playing (but not for hard rock.. sorry). I hope that everyone can appreciate the time involved in making a custom guitar and the love that goes into them. Production time: |
