Dr. Kenneth Martin has been practicing the art and science of chiropractic health care and natural sports treatment since 1976 at his chiropractic offices in San Marino and Temple City, California, small suburbs of Los Angeles, located in the San Gabriel Valley near Pasadena. He has been an activist for the profession internally as a member of the California Chiropractic Political Action Committee and at the community level externally, working in close proximity with the local California legislators. Born and raised in East Liverpool, Ohio, Dr. Martin and moved to California in 1969 to begin his collegiate work, attending Glendale College and California State College, Los Angeles, before beginning his chiropractic education. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from Pasadena Chiropractic College (then known as the University of Pasadena, School of Chiropractic) in 1975 and began private practice in 1976. He has specialized in the care of athletic injuries for the past 19 years.
A long term member of the California Chiropractic Association (San Gabriel Valley District), Dr. Martin has served many of the offices in multiple terms. He was the editor of BackFax, the society newsletter, which has won awards from both the state association (California Chiropractic Association) and the national association (American Chiropractic Association) and was the Principal Key Doctor of the CCA district, keeping contact with our California Assemblymembers and Senators, as well as our national representatives. He currently serves on Senator Jack Scott's Health Advisory Committee, and is the state Director for the California Chiropractic Association - San Gabriel Valley District.
Dr. Martin holds a California teaching credential and teaches Sports
Medicine at Temple City High School, sponsored by the Los
Angeles County Regional Occupational Program (ROP).
He was previously the team doctor at Gabrielino High School in San Gabriel,
and currently serves as team doctor at Temple
City High School.
Dr. Martin has become a watchdog for the profession by actively pursuing negative press and misinformation about chiropractic. With the help of many others, he has obtained corrections, clarifications and outright retractions of many negative statements made about chiropractic in the media. He also produced a public access cable television show called "Staying Healthy" which centered on a drugless, more wholistic approach to health care.His company, DEK Productions is the official producer of his video show and other electronic media.
The Alternate Answer is Dr. Martin's weekly newspaper column, which has run in the San Gabriel Valley Weekly news for the past 9 years. He has authored several articles and has been published in the Journal of the California Chiropractic Association, Chiropractic Products magazine and Chiropractic Economics magazine. He sits on the advisory board of Chiropractic Products magazine.
